The Bad Salzhausen Station is a breakpoint in the district of Bad Salzhausen the Upper Hessian town of Nida . It is located on the outskirts of urban development on the north side of the spa garden .
history
The station building , a flat, single-storey saddle roof structure , was built around 1900 on the Beienheim – Schotten railway that went into operation in 1897 . The load-bearing steel construction imitates half-timbered construction . On its south-western side, the former service rooms are joined by a waiting hall, some of which is artfully glazed. On its north-eastern side, a toilet house built in the same way supplemented the facility until the railway demolished the house. There was also a cast iron drinking fountain, which was stolen. The reception building was part of the program that had been vigorously pursued since 1826 to expand the town into a spa. The ticket office was still occupied until 1980, after which the building was empty for a few years. Today the building houses a restaurant.
Due to its secluded location, the station has been able to retain its original appearance without structural changes and, due to its technical and historical importance, is a cultural monument due to the Hessian Monument Protection Act .
