links
Fukagawa is a separation station on the Hakodate Main Line between Sapporo and Asahikawa , Hokkaidō's most important railway line. From this the Rumoi main line branches off in the direction of Rumoi . Both lines are operated by the JR Hokkaido company.
On the Hakodate main line, the Super Kamui express train, which runs every 30 or 60 minutes, provides the fastest connection with Sapporo and Asahikawa. This offer is supplemented by occasional stops on the Super Sōya and Sarobetsu express trains from Sapporo to Wakkanai and the Okhotsk express train from Sapporo to Abashiri . There are also regional trains from Iwamizawa or Takikawa to Asahikawa. Regional trains run at irregular intervals on the Rumoi main line to Rumoi.
There is a bus stop in the southern forecourt of the station, which is served by the JR Hokkaido Bus company. Other bus lines stop at the nearest intersection.
investment
The train station, located near the city center, faces west to east. It has six tracks, four of which are used for passenger traffic. They are located on the house platform , on a covered central platform and on a side platform . The latter two are connected to the reception building on the south side of the facility by a covered overpass . An overpass running parallel to this connects a small shopping center next to the reception building with the northern station forecourt.

history
The state railway company Hokkaidō Kansetsu Tetsudō opened on July 16, 1898 the northernmost section of the Hakodate main line between the bridge over the Sorachi (near Takikawa ) and Asahikawa, which also included the Fukagawa station. With the opening of the easternmost section of the Rumoi Main Line by the Railway Authority (later the Ministry of Railways ) on October 23, 1910, Fukagawa became a transport hub. Finally, on October 25, 1924, the southernmost section of the Shinmei Line was added.
The Japanese State Railways expanded the Hakodate main line to double track: in 1964 from Fukagawa to Osamunai and in 1965 from Fukagawa to Moseushi. In addition , it electrified the Takikawa – Asahikawa section on October 1, 1969. For reasons of profitability, the state railway stopped handling goods on February 1, 1984, and checked baggage on March 14, 1985. In the course of privatization, the station became the property of JR Hokkaido on April 1, 1987 . On September 4, 1995, this shut down the entire length of the Shinmei line and replaced it with a bus service.
