The Halle-Trotha Station is located in the north of the city of Halle (Saale) in the district Trotha . It is operationally divided into two operating points, namely as the Halle-Trotha train station and as the Halle-Trotha stop of the S-Bahn Central Germany.
history
The station is on the Halle – Vienenburg railway line and was opened on October 1, 1872. It is located at Hans-Dittmar-Straße 4. The reception building is a cultural monument (registration number 094 96854). Since 1969, Halle-Trotha was the terminus of the then newly opened S-Bahn Halle, which is now part of the S-Bahn Central Germany. Today the station is served by DB Regio and abellio trains.
In preparation for the renovation of the Halle railway junction, a new switch connection was installed between the two previously separate station sections of Halle-Trotha in summer 2015. This enables direct train journeys from the Halle – Vienenburg line to the parallel single-track S-Bahn line.
At the station, the Halle-Trotha port railway branches off to the Halle (Saale) inland port , which is also a listed building and is used for freight traffic.
Investments
The station now has a platform track (track 2) and a passing track, as well as the transfer tracks to the port railway. This continues on the other side of the reception building to the port of Halle (Saale). The S-Bahn line ends bluntly south of the reception building at a platform (platform 1), there is no transfer option here. This track is run as a separate operating point, the Halle-Trotha stop. All platforms are barrier-free.
