The Plauen (Vogtl) -Chrieschwitz station was an operating point of the Gera Süd – Weischlitz railway and the Lottengrün – Plauen railway, which flows here until 1972 . The operating point - most recently an alternative connection point - was closed in 2015.

Geographical location

The former station Plauen (Vogtl) -Chrieschwitz was located west of the old town center of Chrieschwitz and north of the prefabricated housing estate on the White Elster . The trains running on the Gera Süd – Weischlitz railway line have passed the former station without stopping since 2006. The only access to the station from the west was the road from "Hammerplatz" and the "Bahnhofsbrücke" over the Weisse Elster, via which the loading street could also be reached.

history

The first plans to build a train station Plauen (Vogtl) -Chrieschwitz on the Gera Süd – Weischlitz railway line opened in 1875 were made in 1898. A second attempt between the city of Plauen and the railway took place in 1909. The condition for the construction was regulation the White Elster and the continuation of the connection to the gas station. Plauen (Vogtl) Chrieschwitz station was only created in 1914 with the upcoming integration of the Lottengrün – Plauen railway from the east . Due to the war-related delay, the Lottengrün – Plauen railway was actually integrated into the Gera Süd – Weischlitz railway and the connecting station was inaugurated Plauen (Vogtl) -Chrieschwitz only on June 1, 1923.

For the construction of tracks 2 and 3 including the island platform, huge masses of rock had to be moved on the eastern slope. In order to enable one-way traffic on the platform, the Lottengrüner and Greizer tracks were connected by a double switch connection with an intersection. Tracks 2 and 3 went south in the direction of Plauen (Vogtl) station and Bf into the double-track line. Track 1 was used as an overhaul and freight train track, from which the loading tracks and the butt track branched off to the goods shed. In addition, the municipal gas and electricity works and other industrial companies were connected in a southerly direction via platform 1 and a bridge over the White Elster. On the Lottengrüner side there were stump tracks 4 and 5, which served as track safety and as stabling tracks.

In 1946 the second track was dismantled as a reparation payment . Since then, track 3 has ended on the south side at the buffer stop. From 1965, only short guard rails branched off from the two northern entry tracks. At the beginning of the 1970s the line to Lottengrün was shut down and dismantled, which meant that the planned track renovation of the station was no longer carried out. In the course of the development of the Plauen- Chrieschwitz prefabricated building area, a pallet station with a loading ramp was set up on the vacated area . Instead of the small goods shed, two cold stores and warehouses for fruit and vegetables were built, whose sidings, like the track for the lightweight metal construction combine, were declared to be the connecting railway. With the emergence of the Plauen-Chrieschwitz prefabricated building district in 1984, the passenger tunnel was replaced by a pedestrian overpass to the opposite slope with steps leading to the platform and a 30 m long platform roof. This was implemented from the Kürbitz stop near Weischlitz . One-way traffic took place on tracks 2 and 3 until 1990. In the 1990s, the platform roof was torn down because it was in disrepair. At that time, the connecting points had already been removed from the tracks east of the platform. There was also a dispatcher who also took over the ticket sales.

In 2004, the operating site was dismantled and downgraded to a breakpoint with an alternative connection point . Since then, it consisted only of the continuous track on the previous island platform, which was only accessible via a bridge. The bridge over the station, built in 1984, had to be closed in 2006 due to the dilapidated condition of the structure. Since the platform of the stop could only be reached via this, the closure of the bridge in 2006 went hand in hand with the closure of the stop. Of the industrial companies that were once connected to the rail network via the train station, only one steel construction company has been regularly serviced since then. The operating point, most recently an alternate connection point, was closed in 2015.

Reception building

The one-storey station building with a flat hipped roof, built in 1923 and a railway construction characterized by the Heimat style, is a listed building. The building is a brick-lined half-timbered building, which contained service rooms for the dispatcher, ticket issuance, baggage handling and a waiting room. A toilet facility and a farm building were attached to the building. In the present it stands empty and decays.
