The Suidōbashi Station ( Jap. 水道橋駅 , Suidobashi-eki ) is located in Bunkyō and Chiyoda in Tokyo , Japan . On the Toei network maps , the station is designated I-11 for the Mita line .
history
The station was opened on September 24, 1906 by the private Kinoe-Eisenbahn as a passenger station. Just one week after it opened, however, on October 1, 1906, as part of the nationalization of all private railroads, the station became the property of the Japanese state railways .
On June 30, 1972, the Tokyo Prefecture Transportation Bureau subway station opened and a line 6 train stopped at the station for the first time. In 1978, on July 1, line 6 was renamed the Mita line. On April 1, 1987, when the previous state railway was privatized, the station was transferred to its successor, JR East . Since November 18, 2001, the Suica has been accepted as electronic tickets at the JR station and the PASMO since March 18, 2007 at the Toei station .
Type of construction and tracks
Both stations are built in the most common design as through stations and each have two platform tracks.
JR East platforms
The platform tracks at the JR East station run in an east-west direction and are served by two side platforms . The tracks of the Chūō main line run directly south of the platforms and are structurally separated from this by walls.

Toei platforms
The Mita Line station is located just north of the JR East Station, underground under the 301 national road in a north-south direction. The two platform tracks are served from a single central platform .

use
In 2008, the station was used by an average of 88,258 passengers per day, making it 47th of over 900 on the list of the most frequently used stations of the JR East in 2008. In 2008, an average of 21,658 boarding and 21,506 disembarking passengers used the Toei station on the Mita line.
