The Suidōbashi Station ( Jap. 水道橋駅 , Suidobashi-eki ) is located in Bunkyō and Chiyoda in Tokyo , Japan . On the Toei network maps , the station is designated I-11 for the Mita line .

history

The station was opened on September 24, 1906 by the private Kinoe-Eisenbahn as a passenger station. Just one week after it opened, however, on October 1, 1906, as part of the nationalization of all private railroads, the station became the property of the Japanese state railways .

On June 30, 1972, the Tokyo Prefecture Transportation Bureau subway station opened and a line 6 train stopped at the station for the first time. In 1978, on July 1, line 6 was renamed the Mita line. On April 1, 1987, when the previous state railway was privatized, the station was transferred to its successor, JR East . Since November 18, 2001, the Suica has been accepted as electronic tickets at the JR station and the PASMO since March 18, 2007 at the Toei station .

Type of construction and tracks

Both stations are built in the most common design as through stations and each have two platform tracks.

JR East platforms

The platform tracks at the JR East station run in an east-west direction and are served by two side platforms . The tracks of the Chūō main line run directly south of the platforms and are structurally separated from this by walls.
