List of train stations in the Netherlands |
The Station Vlissingen (formerly Station Vlissingen Haven is) the largest train station in the town of Vlissingen in the Dutch province of Zeeland . It is the end point of the Zeeuwse Lijn ( German Seeland Line ), which leads from Vlissingen via Roosendaal to Amsterdam .
The station was opened in 1872 and was built as a terminal station. It has three tracks and two central platforms, from which an InterCity to Amsterdam leaves every half hour.
The station is a junction for pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists from nearby who want to take the ferry to Breskens (on the other side of the Scheldt ) at the adjacent ferry terminal . The station itself is very decentralized, which is why there is a regular cycle of buses on the station forecourt, and there are parking spaces in front of the station for individual transport. In the immediate vicinity are the ferry terminal, the lock over the harbor access roads and the Zeeland Hogeschool.
The station is a Rijksmonument .
