The Klintehamn-Roma (KlRJ) railway was a narrow-gauge railway line on the Swedish island of Gotland . It had a track width of 891 millimeters.

history

The Klintehamn – Roma line was built by Klintehamn-Roma Järnvägsaktiebolag . Goods traffic was unofficially started on November 8, 1897, and the official opening took place on September 21, 1898.

On January 1, 1927, the Klintehamn – Hablingbo railway line built by Sydvästra Gotlands Järnvägsaktiebolag was also taken over.

On July 1, 1947, the KlRJ was nationalized and converted into a company of the same name. The integration into the SJ took place on July 1, 1948. All traffic between Roma and Hablingbo was set on June 10, 1953, the track was only operated for the transport of sugar beet until autumn 1955. In 1957/1958 the tracks between Klintehamn and Hablingbo and in 1958/1959 the line between Roma and Klintehamn were dismantled.

vehicles

For the start of operation in 1897, two were tank locomotives the wheel arrangement C of kamewa in Kristinehamn procured. The locomotives were given the road numbers 1 and 2 and the names "KLINTEHAMN" and "HÖFDINGEN". The fleet also included two two-axle passenger cars, a two-axle mail car and 36 two-axle freight cars .

Locomotive 1 was used on the line until 1949. Then she moved the SJ to Växjö , where she was active as K4p 3067 as a shunting locomotive until 1963. Then it was set up as a museum locomotive in Målilla until 1997 . Since then "KLINTEHAMN" has been with Gotlands Hesselby Jernväg .
