On July 9, 1869, the Dux-Bodenbacher Bahn was allowed to build a railway line from Bodenbach to Dux with a branch line to Komotau. On May 20, 1871, the Bodenbach – Osseg line and on to Liptitz near Dux was opened. On December 16, 1879, its extension from Liptitz to Ladowitz station of the Prague-Dux Railway was put into operation.

The route was used exclusively to remove coal from the lignite shafts west of Dux. Directly on the route were the mines Nelson at Ossegg and progress bay , Maria Schacht , Johannesschacht , Christianiaschacht and Peter and Paul at Dux.

In preparation for the planned nationalization of the DBE, operational management of the line was transferred to the kk Österreichische Staatsbahnen (kkStB) from July 1, 1884 . The Dux-Bodenbacher Bahn was not nationalized until January 1, 1894.

After the First World War , the line came to the newly founded Czechoslovak State Railways ČSD. The ČSD operated the connection until 1931, a little later it was dismantled.

After the Second World War, a large part of the former route disappeared in the lignite opencast mines důl Nový Pokrok and důl Alois Jirásek , so that today hardly any remains of the route are preserved.
