The railway line Otavi-Tsumeb in Namibia is part of the historic Otavibahn and now connects the villages nordnamibischen Otavi and Tsumeb .

From 1958, the Otavibahn was north of Usakos gradually from 600 mm to 1067 mm umgespurt , where the route was laid out primarily to ensure that trade during the construction work on the existing will not be interrupted had. The new line was officially inaugurated on January 29, 1961, the tracks of the old line had been demolished by February 1962. The route has been operated by TransNamib since Namibia's independence .

On the section between Otavi and Tsumeb, a 3.2-kilometer private siding branches off to the Ohorongo cement factory , which was completed in 2011. The track is used to transport coal to the plant and cement from the plant. The move is carried out using a road-rail vehicle from the company.

The renovation of the railway line by D&M Rail Construction was completed in March 2019 after almost two years. The route now allows a maximum speed of 100 km / h.
