The Turin – Pinerolo – Torre Pellice railway is an Italian branch line in the Piedmont region .

The line is operated by RFI , is single-track and electrified.

history

The railway line from Turin to Pinerolo opened in 1854. In 1882 the remnant to Torre Pellice was completed.

From 1917 to 1921 the line was electrified with the 3600 V three-phase alternating current system, and in 1961 it was converted to 3 kV direct current .

From the timetable change on June 17, 2012, passenger traffic between Pinerolo and Torre Pellice was shut down by the Piedmont region . However, the route will formally remain in operation. With the timetable change on December 9, 2012, the Turin – Pinerolo section is part of the FM2 line of the Turin urban railway .
