The Zhangjiakou – Tangshan railway ( Chinese  张 唐 铁路 , Pinyin Zhāng táng tiělù ) runs from the Kongjiazhuang station in Zhangjiakou to the Tangshan- Caofeidian port . The railway line forms the first part of the Ordos – Tangshan transport corridor.

The 2,015 put into operation new line is China's fourth large coal train after train Datong-Qinhuangdao line , the railway Shenmu-Huanghua and the railway line Watang-Rizhao . It has 17 train stations and has a total of 174 bridges (137 km) and 85 tunnels (230 km). The total investment cost to build it was 39.7 billion yuan. The Zhangjiakou – Tangshan railway is designed for an annual freight volume of 200 million tons.

Zhangjiakou is expected to become an important hub for coal transportation following the ban on truck transport of coal to the port of Tianjin .
