Baktat International , in Germany BLG Kardeşler Lebensmittelhandelsgesellschaft mbH, is a group of companies in the food trade with its headquarters in Mannheim-Neckarau . The first company of this group was founded in 1986 in Sungurlu .
history
The group operating on the international market under the Baktat brand , which was founded in 1986 by five brothers of the Turkish-German Baklan family, includes a total of fourteen companies that employ around 1,500 people and achieved sales of 130 million euros in the 2013 financial year. Baktat means something like: "Look what a taste" or "Look and taste".
The managing directors of BLG Kardeşler Lebensmittelhandelsgesellschaft mbH are the brothers Mustafa and Kadir Baklan. You employ 100 people. Mustafa Baklan was also the chairman of the Association of Turkish Entrepreneurs Rhein-Neckar e. V. (TID).
The BLG Kardeşler food mbH is one of the largest suppliers of Turkish food in Germany. Currently (2014) over 1200 different Mediterranean products are manufactured and sold under the brand name SUNTAT . In total, the range comprised over 3,000 products in the 2014 financial year and is offered in over 50 countries worldwide.
With the association SUNTAT Bildungsbrücke e. V. the company supports Turkish schools with educational material. BLG Kardeşler is one of the sponsors of the private University of Economics for Management in Mannheim and the Free Waldorf School Mannheim-Neckarau.
After a legal dispute, the products have been sold under the Suntat brand since 2017 .
The protected brand BAKTAT was the focus of a long-standing dispute between the heirs of the actual brand owner. As early as August 2017, the Karlsruhe Higher Regional Court ruled that it was not the brothers Mastafa and Kadir Baklan, but the wife and children of the deceased trademark owner who were the legal trademark owners. With a decision of June 21, 2018, the BGH also rejected the other party's complaint. (Decision of the BGH of June 21, 2018, AZ BGH I ZR 142/17). The judgment is final.
Awards
The company was awarded the Cross of Merit of Turkey in 2000. The private Spanish business initiative BID (Business Initiative Directions) awarded him the “Golden Star” (Estrella de Oro) and a world quality certificate in 1986 for his quality efforts in the sense of total quality management .
