Balanga

Balanga (officially: City of Balanga ; Filipino : Lungsod ng Balanga ) is a Filipino city in the Bataan Province . Balanga is the capital of the province. The inhabitants are called balangueños . The Bataan National Park and Mount Natib are to the west of the city.

history

Balanga was previously a Visita (subordinate mission station) of Abucay before it was converted into an independent mission station by the Chapter of the Dominican Order on April 21, 1714 . Later, on April 18, 1739, Balanga became a vicariate under the protection of Joseph .

After the founding of the province of Bataan in 1754, Balanga was declared the capital by General Pedro Manuel Arandia due to its favorable location in the center of the newly founded province.

The word balanga goes back to the Tagalog word bañga for "clay pot", which were produced in the place.

Balanga was raised from a township to a town in 2000. Even before that, the outskirts had expanded to the west towards the Bataan Provincial Expressway (also known as the Roman Superhighway ). A new growth center in Baranggay Tuyo has been included in the Comprehensive Land Use Plan .

Balanga is located at junction No. 30 of the toll Bataan Provincial Expressway ( Roman Superhighway ), which connects the province of Bataan with the other provinces in Central Luzon .
