The BallsportArena Dresden is a multi-purpose hall in the Saxon state capital Dresden .

history

The foundation stone for the new arena was laid in December 2015.

The building, which was inaugurated in 2017, offers space for up to 3,000 visitors at sporting events, all of which are seats. At concerts, the number of spectators can be increased to 4,000. In addition to cloakrooms and changing rooms with showers and toilets, there is a room for press and television workstations, sanitary facilities, a restaurant and a VIP area in the building complex. The building also has five squash courts , a bowling alley , a sauna with an exercise pool and a physiotherapy practice .

use

The main user is currently the handball team of HC Elbflorenz , which has played in the 2nd Bundesliga since the 2017/18 season .

On April 28, 2018, the final of which was German Cup in 2018 in Futsal between VfL 05 Hohenstein-Ernstthal and the Futsal Panthers Köln held in the ball sports arena. After extra time, the team from Hohenstein-Ernstthal was able to secure the German championship title 6: 5.
