Amphoe Ban Lat ( Thai : อำเภอ บ้านลาด ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the central part of Phetchaburi Province . Phetchaburi Province is located in the southwestern part of the central region of Thailand .

geography

Neighboring districts (clockwise from north): the Amphoe Khao Yoi , Mueang Phetchaburi , Tha Yang , Kaeng Krachan and Nong Ya Plong . All Amphoe are in Phetchaburi Province.

economy

In Tambon Saphan Krai, a type of sugar, the Nam Tan Tanot ( น้ำตาล โตนด ), which is famous throughout Thailand , is made from the juice of the sugar palm .

history

Originally called Tha Chang (Thai: ท่าช้าง ) County , it was renamed Ban Lat in 1959.
