Bank is a district of Kohlscheid , city of Herzogenrath , in the Aachen city region in North Rhine-Westphalia .

location

Bank is in the west of Kohlscheid and the Amstelbach flows through it. The Aachen – Mönchengladbach railway forms the eastern end of the town, behind which Kohlscheid begins. In addition to Kohlscheid, neighboring towns are Horbach in the west , Richterich in the south and Pannesheide in the north .

General

Bank was originally a small street village and grew together with Kohlscheid with increasing industrialization in the middle of the 20th century. In 1926 the place, which belonged to the parish Richterich, received an emergency church , which was finally replaced in 1952 by today's church of St. Mary Annunciation.
