location

Pannesheide lies directly on the German-Dutch border, which the Bleyerheider Bach forms there. In the north, bordering Kerkrader district Bleijerheide the Netherlands to Pannesheide. Other neighboring towns are Horbach in the south (which administratively belongs to the city of Aachen) and the Kohlscheid district , and the town of Straß in the northeast . To the west of the village is the Amstelbach nature reserve.

General

Pannesheide is a rural street village. It was an independent municipality until 1908 and was then incorporated into Kohlscheid. There is a primary school and the Catholic Church of St. Barbara, which was built between 1928 and 1929. The first chapel was built around 1600.
