The Baon is a river in France that runs in the Yonne department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region . It rises in the north-western municipality of Stigny , generally drains north-west and flows into the Armançon as a right tributary after around 23 kilometers in the municipality of Saint-Martin-sur- Armançon .

course

On its way to Tanlay, the Baon reaches the Armançon valley and has been artificially parallel to the canal for around 1.5 kilometers since the Canal de Bourgogne was built on the side facing away from the river. At Commissey , it is fed into an old bend in the Armançon, dammed to supply the canal with water, passes under it at the Saint-Martin lock, and on this way finally reaches its Armançon estuary.
