Barbara Bürer

Barbara Bürer (born February 23, 1955 in Rapperswil SG ) is a Swiss radio and television presenter and journalist .

Life

After Bürer had completed her commercial apprenticeship in 1974, she became a secretary for Swiss television . In 1978 she moved to the Cortesi office , where she completed a journalism traineeship until 1980. In 1980, Bürer became a freelance journalist for the Swiss radio station DRS in the Bern studio and in November 1983 switched to editing and moderating the Graffiti program on DRS 3 .

In 1986 she became a sports editor for the Tages-Anzeiger , in 1988 an editor and presenter for the Max program on Swiss television; from 1991 she worked as a reporter again for the Tages-Anzeiger. In 1996 she received the Bern Media Prize for Local Journalism. From 1997 to 2000 Bürer was a reporter for the German weekly newspaper Die Zeit , then an editor for Das Magazin , and from 2002 to 2007 again a reporter for the Tages-Anzeiger.

From February 2007 to the end of 2018, Bürer hosted the call-in program nachtwach on SRF 1 and DRS 3 (as a “night watchman”) . The program was discontinued after 12 years at the end of 2018 for reasons of economy. From 2007 to 2011 she was an editor at Radio DRS 1 .

Bürer lives in Rapperswil-Jona .
