Barbara Herrmann (politician)

Barbara Herrmann (born July 6, 1948 in Berlin ) is a German CDU politician .

Herrmann began working in the public sector in 1971. She trained as a police officer and attended administration school. Most recently she was employed in the school office in the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district . She joined the police union in 1974 before converting to Komba in 1989 .

In 1989 Herrmann joined the CDU and the CDA , in the latter of which she held the office of district chairman from 1995 onwards. From 1995 to 1999 she was a member of the district assembly in Tiergarten , where she chaired the youth welfare committee and acted as secretary of the CDU parliamentary group. After Volker Liepelt left, she moved to the Berlin House of Representatives on November 1, 2000 , from which she left around a year later. From 2001 to 2011 Herrmann was again a district councilor, now in the new Mitte district . Here, too, she chaired the youth welfare committee.

Herrmann is divorced and the mother of two adult children.
