Barbara Simon (film editor)
Barbara Simon (born October 21, 1939 in Naumburg ; † March 5, 2019 there ) was a German film editor at DEFA .
Simon studied at the Potsdam-Babelsberg Film Academy . From 1963 to 1991 she worked for the GDR film company DEFA as an editor for documentaries and feature films. She then found employment through fixed-term film contracts. During this time she worked on more than 20 productions. In 1992/1993 she took part in the film and adventure tour of Studio Babelsberg . From 2000 to 2008 she taught film editing as a guest lecturer at the TV Academy Central Germany. In 2010 she directed and wrote the screenplay for the crime film Der Pflanzen und der Liebe Gifte based on a book by Heinrich Görl .
