Bardas boilas
Bardas Boilas ( Middle Greek Βάρδας Βόϊλας , † after 923/24), was a rebel against the Byzantine Emperor Romanos I.
Bardas Boilas officiated under Romanos I as strategos of the Chaldia theme in northeast Asia Minor. Around 923/24 he started a rebellion against the emperor with the support of Chalder Adrianos and the wealthy Armenian Tačat . The rebels holed up in the Baiburt fortress , but finally had to surrender to the Domestikos of the Scholen Johannes Kurkuas , who had marched against them from Kaisareia with a force. Bardas became a monk shaved , his celebrity co-conspirators blinded . Johannes Kurkuas' brother Theophilos succeeded him as Strategos von Chaldia .
