The Bardello is an approximately 12 kilometer long tributary of Lake Maggiore in the Italian province of Varese in the north-west of Lombardy .

The Bardello rises near Bardello at 238  m slm at the northwest end of Lake Varese . It initially flows to the northwest and forms the municipal boundary between Bardello and Gavirate , then briefly between Besozzo and Gavirate, before reaching the municipality of Cocquio Trevisago . Shortly before the village of Trevisago it curves towards the southwest and a little later flows around the center of the village of Besozzo.

He passed the fraction Ronche before he turns to the northwest and the fraction Ghiggerina (both Brebbia ) happens. Immediately afterwards it turns to the west and now flows in several arcs towards Lake Maggiore. Finally, the river flows between the districts of Bozza di Bogno (Besozzo) in the north and Bozza di Lago (Brebbia) in the south at 193  m slm in the east bank of the lower Lago Maggiore.
