biography

Before he became head of government, he was Swaziland's finance minister from 1984 to 1993 and then served as the IMF 's executive director. He was founded by King Mswati III. Appointed Prime Minister to help channel growing protests from sections of the people. He didn't succeed. On the contrary, the protests - organized by the banned opposition parties and the trade union federation - became increasingly violent. Because Dlamini was always loyal to the wishes of the monarch, he became increasingly unpopular with the people. The king dismissed him in 2003 and replaced him with Absalom Themba Dlamini .

On October 16, 2008 he was again Prime Minister as the successor to Absalom Themba Dlamini. He held this office until September 4, 2018, shortly before his death. Vincent Mhlanga succeeded him as acting Prime Minister .
