Sishayi Nxumalo

Sishayi Simon Nxumalo ( 1936 - February 25, 2000 ) was a politician in Swaziland . In addition to his political career, he was managing director of Tibiyo Taka Ngwane , one of the most important commercial enterprises in his country, until 1983 .

Nxumalo founded the Democratic Party in 1962 , which he headed as General Secretary until his electoral defeat in 1964. He then moved to the monarchist party Imbokodwo National Movement (IMB) and brought it there to considerable political influence. He served in the government from 1967 and was appointed Minister of Finance in 1983. On June 8, 1984, after accusing other members of the government of corruption , Nxumalo was arrested along with three other men on suspicion of preparing for a revolution, but was released on December 31, 1985 and given an amnesty .

From May 8 to July 26, 1996, Nxumalo was Swaziland's Deputy Prime Minister . After King Mswati III. Prince Jameson Mbilini Dlamini had dismissed from the government, he temporarily installed Nxumalo as head of government. He died in a traffic accident on February 25, 2000.
