Barrington (also Town of Warren ) is a suburban city in Bristol County , Rhode Island , about 17 km south of the capital Providence . It has 16,819 inhabitants, who mostly belong to the upper middle class. In July 2005, classified CNN Money and the magazine Money Barrington of the places with the highest quality of life in at No. 6 US one.
The 16,819 (2000) inhabitants are distributed over 6001 households, 4712 families and 6199 houses. The population density is 711.2 / km². The population is predominantly white at 96.37%. This is followed by Asians with 1.77%, Latinos with 1.05%, 0.68% African-Americans and 0.11% natives. 0.82% said they were multiracial.

7 public and 4 private schools as well as numerous pre-school facilities ensure education. Barrington High School is considered one of the best public schools in the nation and has been recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence . There is also the Zion Bible College , which specializes in the Bachelor of the Bible.
Leisure activities
The EastBay Bike Path from Providence to Bristol runs through Barrington and offers, in addition to the golf club, the yacht club, the YMCA and numerous water sports, a healthy quality of life and attracts cyclists, inline skaters and walkers especially in summer. Schools offer a variety of sports, and high school football and field hockey teams won the Rhode Island Championship. The Barrington Youth Soccer League means that almost every child has played on a Barrington Youth Soccer team at some point.
