The Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe and St. Philippus ( Latin : Titulus Dominae Nostrae de Guadalupe et Sancti Philippi martyris in Via Aurelia ; Italian Basilica di Nostra Signora di Guadalupe e San Filippo in Via Aurelia ) is a church in the Suburbi (suburb) "S.IX - Aurelio" in Rome ( Municipio Roma XIII. ). The church is the national church of the Mexicans and Latin Americans in Rome.

It is named after the Mexican national shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe . On Palm Sunday , April 3, 1955, Pope Pius XII blessed . the foundation stone that comes from the Tepeyac hill .

The church was built from 1955 to 1958 according to the design of the architect Gianni Mazzocca and consecrated on December 12, 1958 by Clemente Cardinal Micara , Vicar General of the Pope for the Diocese of Rome. It has been assigned to the parish church and the order of the Legionaries of Christ since September 22nd, 1960 . On January 15, 1991, Pope John Paul II appointed it a minor basilica and titular church of the Roman Catholic Church .
