Bass Down Low is an electro - song of the American singer Dev in collaboration with The Cataracs . It was released on November 16, 2010 and was the first single from their first studio album The Night the Sun Came Up . At number ten in the British singles charts , it was the artist's most successful song to date . Bass Down Low was written by Dev and The Cataracs, the latter also serving as producers .

Content and music

The song is an electro-pop track that is staged by synthesizers and bass grooves. According to AOL Radio , the song also refers to the Black Eyed Peas with Dev singing: giving you that Black Eyed Peas - you know, that Boom Boom Pow . The piece is about a party night. Dev said of the song that it was a great follow-up to Like a G6 .

On November 16, 2010, the song was officially presented on US contemporary hit radio. On December 6, 2010, the song was released for download from iTunes . Among other things, the British rapper Tinie Tempah supported Dev with the remix version of the song, which was released as a single in Great Britain. In an interview, Dev was enthusiastic about working with the rapper.

Music video

The video was shot by Ethan Lader and first published on Vevo on December 2, 2010 . The music video was later published on iTunes. The video was in a department store in Los Angeles turned. He also praised Dev's introduction to the song with its rap chanting and electronic groove of the song. About.com also praised the song. The Border Mail named Bass Down Low as Dev's copy of the Black Eyed Peas.

Commercial win

The song reached number 61 on the official Billboard Hot 100 charts on February 12, 2011. In the United Kingdom, the song reached number ten and is the singer's most successful song to date (as of October 2011). The song was not released in Germany and large parts of Europe. In addition to number 66 in Australia and number 35 in Canada , the song did not reach any noteworthy placements in the charts. In the US , the song has sold over 433,000 times.
