The Bassenser Tief is a deep in the northern area of the municipality of Wangerland in the district of Friesland in the north of Lower Saxony .

The approximately 4 km long watercourse in the Jeverland , through which inland water flows into the North Sea , arises north of Bassens and north of the district road 87, the so-called Störtebekerstraße . It then flows in an east and south direction. Together with the Grimmenser Tief , it forms the Horumer Tief at Minser Hammrich .

In earlier times the low was mainly used for drainage and as a traffic route, today it is also used for recreational sports such as paddling and fishing .
