The Grimmenser Tief is a deep in the northern area of the municipality of Wangerland in the district of Friesland in the north of Lower Saxony .
The approximately 5 km long watercourse in the Jeverland , through which inland water flows into the North Sea , is created at Friederikensiel as a junction from the Friederikentief .
It then flows in an easterly direction, north past Grimmens. Together with the Bassenser Tief , it forms the Horumer Tief at Minser Hammrich .
In earlier times the low was mainly used for drainage and as a traffic route, today it is also used for recreational sports such as paddling and fishing .
