The Friederike depth is a 2.5 km long deep in the community Wangerland in the district of Friesland in the north of Lower Saxony .

The watercourse in Jeverland , through which inland water is drained and the water ultimately flows into the North Sea , has its origin in Friederikengroden . There the Grimmenser Tief branches off in an easterly direction. The Friederikentief continues to flow in a south-westerly direction. Together with the Sophientief flowing in from the west , it forms the Tettenser Tief in the north of Neugarmssiel, which continues to flow in a southerly direction .

In earlier times the low was mainly used for drainage and as a traffic route, today it is also used for recreational sports such as paddling and fishing .
