The Basware Oyj is a Finnish provider of software solutions and services and, according to the manufacturer, more than 1 million users in over 60 countries worldwide leader in purchase-to-pay solutions. The Basware Open Network for electronic invoicing and procurement connects companies worldwide.

history

Basware was founded in 1985 and the first software and service concept was developed in 1985. In 1990 a management buy-out took place . The first financial management software appeared in 1992 and the first invoice processing software in 1997. In 1999 the company had its first customer and partner outside of Finland.

Since 2000, the corporation (Finnish Osakeyhtiö shortly Oyi) is on the Helsinki Stock Exchange listed company . In the same year, the first purchase management software and e-invoicing service as well as the first electronic invoicing, archiving and procurement software appeared. The company also expanded through several branches in Europe, which was followed by a branch in the USA in 2002. In 2003 the first solution for the IFRS scope of consolidation appeared. In the same year, Basware entered into a partnership with Xerox for distribution in twelve European countries.

In 2004 the President of Finland selected Basware for the Internationalization Award. In 2005 and 2006, Trivet Software and the software company Analyste were acquired .

In 2007 Basware was the first to offer an EPP solution with full Unicode support. In the same year the Basware Mobile Client was introduced.

Since July 2009, the German subsidiary Basware GmbH has been a member of the Association of Electronic Invoices. V. (VeR).

Basware's solutions are intended to optimize the entire process, from procurement to invoice processing, and allow a fully automatic process, starting with the need for approval, ordering, order and delivery confirmations through to invoice processing.

Basware proclaims that Basware's solutions and services can improve their liquidity , optimize working capital and flexibly manage their financial processes across the entire purchase-to-pay process.

The solutions are either implemented locally or offered as a service. Basware sells them through its own branches in Europe , the USA and Asia-Pacific , as well as through a nationwide network of business partners.

International

Basware has grown rapidly internationally and is currently active in more than 60 countries on six continents. Basware's target market is Europe, Russia, North America and Asia / Pacific. The company has 12 of its own branches and a dense network of partners. Overall, this comprehensive network provides support and service for over 1 million end users.
