Baugh Fell is a mountain in Cumbria , England . The mountain is now in Cumbria, but was part of the West Riding of Yorkshire until 1974 and is now part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The mountain has a height of 678 m and a notch height of 260 m.

Baugh Fell is bounded to the west by the Dent Fault and the Clough Rivers and to the east by the River Rawthey valley . The summit plateau has the shape of the letter "L", is 4 km long and runs in a north-south direction. The highest point of the extensive plateau is Tarn Rigg Hill in the southeast of the plateau. A trigonometric point is located on the Knoutberry Haw ( Ordnance Survey (OS) Grid Reference SD731919). The southeast end of the Baugh Fell is also known as the East Baugh Fell .

At the northern end of the plateau is the West Baugh Fell Tarn (OS Grid Reference SD730937). To the north of Tarn Rigg Hill, in its immediate vicinity, there are five small lakes, the East Tarns . In the westernmost of the East Tarns, the Rawthey Gill is a source of the River Rawthey . The Grisedale Beck , a tributary of the Clough River, is also created on the north side of the mountain. All are tributaries of the River Lune .

The mountain can be climbed from different sides based on the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 .
