Bavarian costume association

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Bavarian Trachtenverband eV is the umbrella organization of the regional associations of traditional costume associations based in Traunstein .

history

On October 25, 1925 , the "United Trachtenverband des Bayerischen Oberlandes " was founded in the Hackerkeller in Munich, the forerunner of the Bavarian Trachtenverband. It comprised ten founding district associations together with 303 associations and 19,135 members.

The regional association of Bavarian traditional and national costume associations was founded as early as 1909 .

According to plans from 2002, the association built the Trachtenkulturzentrum in Holzhausen near Geisenhausen in Niederbayern from 2005 , which is to serve as the office of the Bavarian Trachtenverband and the Bavarian Trachtenjugend, as an archive and depot as well as a youth education center and should be completed in 2014.

In 2002 the two Bavarian state costume associations merged to form a large association through a merger agreement. In 2009, however, quarrels about the construction of the youth education center led to the resignation of three districts. The district of Middle Franconia did not consider the construction to be financially viable. The Gaue Oberländer Vereinigung and IG Oberallgäu also resigned because the new center is in Lower Bavaria and not in Upper Bavaria. At the moment 22 district associations with approx. 165,000 members are united in the newly founded "Bavarian Trachtenverband eV" based in Traunstein .

The Bavarian Trachtenverband is a member of the German Trachtenverband .
