Chiemgau Alpine Association
The Chiemgau-Alpenverband is an amalgamation (Gauverband) of Bavarian mountain costume conservation associations (GTEV) based in Marquartstein in Upper Bavaria . The current district director is Miche Huber.
history
The Chiemgau Alpine Association for Costume and Customs was founded on July 25, 1926 in Marquartstein. This was preceded by substantive disputes in Gauverband I , which is also based in Chiemgau . The first district director was Hias Schrobenhauser. In 1937, the NSDAP district leadership for Munich-Upper Bavaria ordered the traditional costume clubs to be merged with the National Socialist organization Kraft durch Freude (KdF). After the war, work was resumed as early as 1946. The Gauverband today has 23 associations with 7,955 members, which concentrate on the southern parts of the districts of Rosenheim and Traunstein .
