Feldwies is a village in Chiemgau and a part of the municipality of Übersee in the Upper Bavarian district of Traunstein .

geography

Feldwies is located in the Chiemgau on the south bank of the Chiemsee . The Überseer Bach borders the town to the west, and the Mouth of the Tiroler Achen nature reserve to the east . In the north of the village along the banks of the Chiemsee, the federal motorway 8 runs and there the junction Übersee connects the district road TS 45 running through the village to the motorway. Übersee, the capital of the municipality, borders the village in the south.

history

The historical center of the settlement is in the area of today's Greimlstrasse and the Seerosenweg .

Some important painters lived and worked in the village, especially Julius Exter .
