The Bavarian Brewery and Bakery Museum in Kulmbach is a German museum on the subject of beer and baking .
history
The museum was founded in 1994 as the Bavarian Brewery Museum on an unused site of the disused Mönchshof brewery in Kulmbach. Several exhibits from the typical Franconian brewery as well as the original brewhouse have been preserved.
After renovations and expansions, the bakery museum was added on September 12, 2008. Since then, the museum has been called the Bavarian Brewery and Bakery Museum Kulmbach . It has an exhibition area of around 3000 m². The motto is: "Today I bake, tomorrow I brew", a quote from the fairy tale Rumpelstiltskin .
The sponsor is the Bavarian Brewery and Bakery Museum Kulmbach eV In addition, the museum is located on the Bier- und Burgenstraße and the Franconian Bierstraße .
Bakery Museum
There is a 17th century bakery and a three-story mill on the site . The baking house and mill come from the district of Kulmbach. The mill and the mill system can be entered via a staircase, and the drive types of historical mills and types of flour are presented. In an old bakery , the theme “from flour to baked goods” is presented.
Brewery Museum
The importance of beer in Bavaria , Franconia and especially in Upper Franconia is shown in the brewery museum. Different sections show how beer was brewed around 1900, how industrialization changed the brewing system, how Egyptians, Romans and Celts brewed beer and how beer was prepared in the Middle Ages. Other exhibits include, for example, a 2600 year old beer amphora , old beer mugs and a "glass brewery".

- 2003: "Golden Beer Idea" of the Bavarian Brewers' Association and the Bavarian Hotel and Restaurant Association for the preservation, maintenance and contemporary presentation of the traditional brewing trade and the Bavarian beer culture.
