Beñat Albizuri Aransolo (born May 17, 1981 in Berriz , Province of Bizkaia ) is a Spanish cyclist .

Career

Beñat Albizuri first drew attention to himself in 2002 when he finished second on the third stage of the Basque Tour of Bidasoa Itzulia. In 2004 he finished second in the one-day Memorial Valenciaga race and won the Prueba Santa Cruz criterion.

Albizuri began his career in 2005 with the Orbea cycling team . Already in August he drove for Euskaltel-Euskadi as a stagiaire . For the following season he signed a contract with the Basque UCI ProTeam . He finished sixth on the last stage of the Tour of Murcia . He then started his first big tour at the Giro d'Italia, which he finished in 144th place in 2007 , but had to give up on the 8th stage.

In 2008 he ended his racing career.
