The 26th Tour of Murcia took place from March 1st to 5th, 2006. The bike race was held in five stages over a distance of 643.2 kilometers. The race is part of the UCI Europe Tour 2006 and is classified in category 2.1.

On the fourth stage to the 1,150 meters high Alto del Collado Bermejo in the Sierra Espuña , the eventual overall winner Santos González won the top jersey. Last year's winner Koldo Gil 2005 also looked for the decision on the king's stage . The remaining stages except for the individual time trial around Jumilla were decided by sprints in the entire field or in smaller groups.
