The Bear River State Park is a State Park near Evanston in the State of Wyoming . The name is borrowed from the Bear River that flows through the park. The park was established in 1991 and covers an area of 1.2 km² (300 acres ). Around five kilometers of footpaths have been created for hiking and wildlife observation. Small herds of bison and elk live in the park, fenced off. In winter it offers tourists the opportunity to go cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.

Bear River State Park is open all year round. There are no overnight accommodations in the park. Every year on the weekend before Labor Day , the Bear River Rendezvous takes place in the south of the park . The rendezvous of the trappers in the middle of the 19th century are recreated.
