Beatrice was a daughter of Bernardin Frankopan , Knez (prince) of Krk and Modruš (1453-1529) from his marriage to Donna Luisa Marzano d'Aragona, daughter of Giovanni Francesco Mariano, prince of Squillace . Her brother Christoph (1482-1527) was a Ban from Croatia .

Beatrice's first marriage in 1496 was Johann Corvinus (1473–1504), a son of the Hungarian King Matthias Corvinus , born out of wedlock , with whom she had three children:

  • Elisabeth (1496–1508)
  • Christoph (1499–1505), last of the house of Hunyadi-Corvinus
  • Matthias (1504–1505)

After her husband's death, the widow, described as extraordinarily beautiful, was the heir to Hunyadi and administered the property for her children, who, however, died in childhood soon after their father. After the period of mourning she married the Hungarian King Vladislav II with his nephew. Beatrice married Margrave Georg von Brandenburg-Ansbach (1484–1543) in Gyula on January 21, 1509 . George was given all Corvinian goods by King Vladislav. In addition to Hunyadi Castle, this also included the Lippa Fortress with 252 villages. Georg became one of the most powerful landowners in Hungary through his wife. Parts of the Bibliotheca Corviniana came to Wolfenbüttel through Beatrice .

After Beatrice's death, a year after the marriage, Georg sold most of the Hungarian possessions and acquired lordships in Silesia .
