Beau Black

Beau Black (born August 5, 1985 ) is an American singer, songwriter, instrumentalist and Emmy- nominated composer.

Life

Beau Black's father is David "Jay" Black, singer of the doo-wop group Jay & the Americans . He grew up as the youngest child in the family. At a young age, Beau Black performed with his father and mimicked his style when performing. He sang Let's Lock The Door for the first time when he was five and began performing with his father when he was eight. Beau Black has been writing his own songs and lyrics since he was 12. At 14 he learned guitar and drums. He then became an integral part of his father's Lioveband, where he played guitar and sang. Together with his father he sang the duet Cryin ' by Roy Orbison .

Black's first album, titled Meant to Be with rock 'n' roll songs, was released as an in-house production in 2008 and provided several songs and musical works for various film and television spots. The demand for these songs led Black to embark on the path as a full-time composer. His path led into the film and advertising industry. He wrote and interpreted music for more than 50 commercials. He was also responsible for the background music for several series and films.

He is currently working on several projects with the Disney Network. He is the main composer of the animated series The Lion Guard , a spin-off from The Lion King . He also wrote the theme songs for Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero and Miles of Tomorrow , for which he is also responsible for much of the music.

In 2017 he was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award in the Outstanding Original Song category for Sisi ni Sawa from The Lion Guard along with his co-songwriters Ford Riley and Sarah Mirza .
