Beda Mayr

Beda Mayr , actually Felix Mayr , pseudonym Sebastian Leo (born January 15, 1742 in Taiting , † April 28, 1794 in Donauwörth ) was a German clergyman, theologian and writer.

Life

After studying in Augsburg, Munich and Freiburg im Breisgau, took his religious vows on September 29, 1762 in Heilig Kreuz zu Donauwörth. There he also worked as a professor of theology and philosophy. He also became prior of the monastery.

A pamphlet, which he wrote but was published by Heinrich Braun without his knowledge, caused a sensation under the title The first step towards the future unification of the Catholic and Protestant churches. Dared by - You will hardly believe it, dared by a monk .
