The city is located in the southern part of Aarhus Municipality and belongs to the Midtjylland region . In 2012 Beder merged with Malling to form the town of Beder-Malling .

history

The village consisted of nine farms in 1682, one house with land and one house without land. The acreage was 295.9 tønde land , of which 48.24 were with bread grain . Two varieties were grown in alternation every year.

In 1879 the place was described as follows: church with rectory and a mill, town of Beder with a private school.

The place developed very strongly from 1884 due to the Odderbanen built by the Hads-Ning Herreders Jernbane between Aarhus and Odder and has grown together with the southern town of Malling via the Egelund sports complex.

At the turn of the century around 1900, the description was: Beder (1267: Bitreth) with church, rectory, school, horticultural school (founded in 1889), veterinarian's apartment, savings bank (founded in 1871; as of March 31, 1900 with savings of 101,872 kroner , interest 4%, reserve fund 13,721 kroner, 323 accounts), dairy, mill, inn, train station, telegraph and telephone booth.

Until the local reform in 1970 Beder was part of the Sogne commune Beder-Malling.
