The Bedford Beagle was a station wagon version of the Bedford HA , a delivery van with a 400 kg payload, which in turn was based on the Vauxhall Viva HA . The conversion was carried out by Martin Walter Ltd. carried out. The Bedford HA was often seen in its day, but the Beagle was much rarer and there are few specimens left today. The Beagle in turn formed the basis for the Camper Roma , which was also designed and built by Martin Walter.

The vehicle was introduced in 1964 and was originally equipped with a four-cylinder in-line engine with a displacement of 1,057 cm³. Otherwise the equipment was kept very simple; there were drum brakes all around and only a few instruments. Larger engines were later used; In 1967 there were 1,159 cm³ displacement and in 1972 it was 1,256 cm³. The top speed increased from 116 km / h to 129 km / h.

In 1973 the production was stopped, the better equipped Vauxhall Viva HC station wagons replaced the Beagle.
