Bedford HA 110 of the BEA

The Bedford HA was a small delivery van that Bedford launched in 1963 based on the Vauxhall Viva HA . The station wagon version of this vehicle was called the Beagle .

The car was very popular with utilities in Great Britain such as the post office , electricity companies, British Telecom and British Gas plc. Many large companies like DER or Meals on Wheels (the British version of food on wheels ) had large fleets.

This model stayed in production for 20 years until it was replaced by the Bedford Astravan / Bedford Astramax in 1983 . The Viva sedans have been revised several times, but the body of the HA delivery vans has always remained the same. However, there were larger engines and other carburetors, parallel to the sedan models. A very rare pickup version was offered to municipal companies and similar buyers, but was not available to private customers.

In the film Beiderbecke Trilogy a Bedford HA appeared as well as in series 2 of the comedy drama Auf Wiedersehen, Pet .
