Beenox is a Canadian development studio for computer games . The studio was founded in 2000 by Dominique Brown. On May 25, 2005, Beenox was bought by Activision and is now a subsidiary of Activision.
Company history
Between 2002 and 2006, the developer studio concentrated exclusively on porting computer games. The studio has currently completed around 30 projects for Windows and Mac OS ; for famous franchises such as X-Men , Spider-Man and Shrek, among others . With the game of the same name for the film Bee Movie - The Honey Complot , Beenox started to publish its own developments again in 2007. Activision announced at E3 2015 that Beenox was behind the Windows version of the computer game "Spider-Man: Friend or Enemy", which was published in October 2007.
In 2015 it was announced that Beenox is working with Mercenary Technology to port the video game Call of Duty: Black Ops III to the XBox 360 and Playstation 3 .
In 2018 and 2019 respectively, Activision announced that Beenox would work with Activision Blizzard on the PC port for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 for the Battle.NET platform and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare for the Battle.NET platform is working.
The studio currently employs around 330 developers.
