Begega ( Asturian Bixega ) is a place and a parish ( Parroquia ) in the municipality of Belmonte de Miranda in the Autonomous Region of Asturias in northern Spain .

Begega is the administrative seat of the Parroquia of the same name, whose 65 inhabitants (2011) live in five villages on an area of ​​13.34 km².

Is known Begega has landscaped and already by the Romans in open pit operated gold mine. This was expanded underground in 2004 and closed in 2006.
