Temagami River ( French Rivière Témagami ) is a left tributary of the Sturgeon River in the Canadian province of Ontario .
The Temagami River leaves Lake Temagami from Outlet Bay in a southerly direction. It flows through the adjacent Cross Lake and Surveyor Lake . Surveyor Lake's runoff is regulated by the Cross Lake Dam . The Temagami River flows further south and reaches the Red Cedar Lake , a reservoir into which the Marten River flows. The Temagami River flows through Thistle Lake below the Red Cedar Lake dams . It continues its course in a westerly direction and finally flows into the Sturgeon River after about 50 km.
The Temagami River has several white-water sections of classes I and II, as well as some that a Portage require.
