Beigarten is a district of the community of Straßlach-Dingharting in the Upper Bavarian district of Munich .
The hamlet is located on the slope of the eastern bank of the Isar , above the Schäftlarn monastery on the other bank of the Isar . The place mentioned in 1098 as pigartten was the "bee garden" of the monastery beekeeping , from which the name is derived.
